Didsbury Gate, Manchester

Client: P J Livesey

 Value: £2.5m

Didsbury Gate is a prestigious development of converted and new build apartments at the site of the former Withington Hospital in Manchester.

 The Project:

Formerly a Victorian Workhouse, the Withington Hospital in South Manchester was a general hospital until 10 years ago. After a new build hospital was opened, the buildings at the old site were sold off. Specialist property developers, P J Livesey, then carried out a full conversion of the former hospital’s historic Grade II listed buildings, creating 120 apartments. A new apartment block was also constructed at the site, adding a further 49 apartments.

Bluegyp’s work:

P J Livesey required a specialist in dry lining and partitioning to carry out internal work at the site and appointed bluegyp. The scope of bluegyp’s work included all internal linings for ceilings and walls and installing acoustic partitions. In addition, bluegyp also applied thermal treatments to the external walls of the buildings.

Outcome:

Bluegyp demonstrated exceptional workmanship and organisation on site. Work was completed within budget and timescales and to an extremely high standard of finish, in keeping with the requirements of this prestigious development.
